This dystopian really challenged the way I thought about my own views. This society is so whacky and insanely messed up but what’s scary is that when you look closer it’s a lot like our society today. You need to read this just to get you thinking. Also the characters are cool, I like Connor and Risa’s relationship. Really good writing. Good job 👍 put this at the top of your reading list.

Best series of books I’ve read in a long time. My son had this book for required reading and I picked it up one day and never put the books down until I’d read all 6 and even then I was ACHING for more. Enthralling characters, scary realistic portrait of society and their ambition to join the masses- follow the crowd regardless of the morality of issues. 5 plus stars. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL AGES.

I ABSOLUTELY loved this book! I’m not a big reader but I couldn’t put this book down. I love the structure of this book and this is by far one of the most favorite books I’ve ever read. I love the suspense that it creates and I could just reread this book over and over again.

The entire premise of the book is unrealistic, the tropes within are used in perhaps the most trite manner I have ever seen, there's a whole thing about trying to act like racism's been fixed in the world when really all that happened was "white" and "black" got replaced with new words, and the book really just can't seem to decide on whether or not the whole unwinding thing is good or bad, what with the whole scene of the kid's parts being brought all together again? It all comes together as a flaming hot mess that's not worth the trouble of reading, and doesn't even leave a compelling hook to sell a continuation of the series, as if the other books were an afterthought, and if I had to guess they're likely equally trite if not worse. If you're that desperate to see what happens next, try TVTropes, it might actually entertain you in the process, unlike this book.

Shusterman never disappoints me

At first I thought that this was going to be another one of those teenage dystopian books that are basically the same. Once I got through the first 20% I literally could not put my phone down and spent four hours straight finishing the book. The plot is tightly-woven, that Shusterman embeds small details that make you go OH SO THAT’S WHAT IT WAS FOR later on. This book contemplates human nature as they relate to pro-life and pro-choice parties. Who is really right? Does the right answer really matter? And what if the process of convincing one another leads to a disastrous result that neither side wanted in the first place? What happens to those that suffer the consequences?

BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD

In August, I asked my drama teacher some book suggestions. I told her I was interested in romance, but instead she suggested Unwind. She brung be the book, and I didn’t want to read it. However, being the bookworm I am, I read it. I LOVED IT. IT IS TRULY THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE LIFE AND I HAVE READ MILLIONS OF BOOKS. THE PLOT IS ASTONISHING AND TRULY BREATHTAKING. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THE SERIES WAS SO SHORT (I am currently on UnSouled), but I AM SURE I WILL READ IT AS SOON AS I FINISH THE LAST BOOK. PLEASE READ IT AND I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

All I can say is… please please please please please please please, read this series and support Neal S. for he is a brilliant author and a genius of intellectual parties. He knows just how to right and weave his way through the mind to get the maximum amount of understanding and entertainment from the reader. The book pulls you in and never lets go! I can guarantee that if you get deep enough you will never want to stop. I can't express how much I loved this story. I laughed and cried, the experience was so real. Its just a must read and I don't say that for anything. As a kid I was such a picky reader but I picked up this book and never let go. So don't delay get Unwind book one today.

This book makes the reader question many things about current society and realize how dark humans can be. However, it is also very addictive and a great read! It's easy to read, meaningful, and fun! A great book for older teens! :)

Stupid School!

One of my favorites. My school wouldn't let me read for literature circles because of the abortion type aspect that some parents didn't agree with. So instead I read Gone and some ally condie book which weren't rly all that good. Now schools beginning again and I heard about unwind from goodreads! I'm so happy I decided to read this nd now understand some of the parents concern even though I like this type nitty gritty story. Very emotional. (14 yrs old)

So since he was on my account and I too had the book I figured I would read it so him and I could discuss it and so that if he had question I could help him long the way... WHAT A GREAT BOOK!!! If you were like me you might have been a little skeptical about reading unwind, but trust me when I tell you that once you get engaged with the characters you will not be able to put this book down. The characters are so well put together that you will have to trouble relating to one of them. This book follows the life of three protagonist. Connor, Risa, and Lev, as they fight their way for the right to live. Every character feels real, each one has their flaws but that's what makes them human. The plot is so enriching, that your heart will literary pound on your chest as you feel like you are one of the characters in the book, by the end the book had me in tears. I am very happy that I read this book and you should definitely read It as well.
